Vermont Maple SyrupWe offer a variety of maple syrup grades. Our Grade A light amber has a smooth, mild maple flavor. The Grade A medium amber is a popular choice for table use. The Grade B syrup has a strong maple flavor that is popular for cooking, especially baked beans and bread. Our trees need to be at least 40 years old and 12 inches in diameter before they can be tapped for maple sugaring. It takes approximately 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of maple syrup. Each tap will produce about 1 quart of maple syrup. Sugaring season lasts 4 to 6 weeks in March & April, when it freezes at night yet warms up above freezing throughout the day. Maple sugaring has been one of Vermont's traditions for over 200 years.
Only the finest Vermont maple syrup is given the Vermont Seal of Quality. Vermont
syrup is known as the best in the world. Links: www.vermontmaple.org: The State of Vermont's website with valuable information about Vermont maple products and producers. |
